How Does My Family Get Started With MCA?

Do You Offer College Credit Plus and Advanced Placement Curriculum?

At Medina Christian Academy, we are always looking for ways to improve our course offerings while keeping a focus on integrating the Bible into our classrooms. We have formed a partnership with Malone University to be able to provide some outstanding courses that can transfer towards a college degree. A dedicated student could earn as many as 21 college credit hours here on our campus. What Is Your Dress Code and Where Can I Buy the Uniforms My Child Will Need?

Our uniform policy follows these guidelines:

 

Shirts: 

Students may wear Medina Christian Academy apparel every day except for during Chapel services. The apparel can be purchased at the MCA Spiritwear Shop or at our official MCA BSN Sports Sideline Shop

 

Pants/Shorts:

Pants

  • Uniform-style pants/shorts (must be worn with an appropriate belt) 
  • Tan khaki (all cotton or cotton/polyester blend, polyester)
  • Pleated or flat front
  • Slit or welt pockets, no external (patch) pockets
  • No stitching that gives the appearance of patch pockets
  • No rivets, carpenter loops, or bell bottoms
  • Must not be ripped, split, or frayed
  • Must adhere to business-attire standards for proper fit and must avoid noticeable low rise
  • Worn with a business-attire belt that can be solid black, solid brown, solid gray, or solid white
  • Rolled pants are not permitted 

Shorts

  • Shorts should maintain the look of the longer style shorts – not calf length
  • Must be worn with a business-attire belt
  • Belts can be solid black, solid brown, solid gray, or solid white
  • Length of shorts is to be not higher than one inch below fingertips 
  • No visible external pockets
  • No cargo shorts 
  • No crop or capri-length pants
  • Rolled shorts are not permitted 
  • Shorts may be worn in April, May, August, September, and October 

 

Sweaters/Sweater Vests:

  • Monogrammed pullover crew neck, v-neck, vest, or cardigan. Sold exclusively here
  • Must adhere to business-attire standards for proper fit
  • Must be worn with a black or grey uniform shirt or Chapel shirt

 

Sweatshirts:

  • Medina Christian Academy sweatshirts and hoodies may be worn any day, except during Chapel
  • Sweatshirts are found exclusively here
  • These sweatshirts also include all MCA extracurricular and mission-specific shirts
  • Must be worn over a uniform shirt

 

Outerwear:

  • Nike jackets and half zip sold exclusively here
  • Must be worn over a uniform shirt

 

Socks:

  • Socks are required to be worn
  • Any style or color sock that maintains a respectful design is appropriate (i.e. footie, crew, knee length, etc.)

 

Shoes:

  • Must be closed-toe shoes
  • Any reasonable shoe material, except Crocs-style plastic
  • Must be clean and in good repair 
  • No Crocs
  • No open-toed shoes
  • No shoes with more than 2-inch heels
  • No sandals, rain boots, five-finger shoes, or vented water shoes
  • No boots unless in winter
  • Check with the office if there are any questions

 

Belts:

  • Must be worn when the shirt is tucked in
  • Must be solid black, brown, grey, or white
  • Must be worn in belt loops

 

Ties:

  • Long or bowties with a respectful design are acceptable

 

Chapel Attire:

  • White Oxford or another type of button-down dress shirt, short or long sleeve
  • A tie or bowtie
  • Khaki pants (No shorts)
  • Belt (Optional for Kindergarten students)
  • Shirts must be tucked in
  • Any sweater that is listed on the MCA dress code, sold exclusively here are acceptable
  • Nice jackets and half zips that are sold exclusively here are acceptable

 

Accessories:

  • Young men may wear a reasonable amount of jewelry, no earrings
  • All students are to keep their hair neat and well groomed
  • Hairstyle guidelines:
    • Hair with shaved portions or spikes and unnatural hair color (i.e. blue, green, pink, etc.) is not acceptable
    • Hair color must be natural looking
    • Hair must be worn out of the face
    • Hair must not cover either eye or completely cover both ears
  • Young men may have facial hair, but it must be well-groomed
  • Pierced body parts, other than ears, are not in the code
  • Tattoos are not to be visible at any time 

 

MCA Friday Attire:

  • MCA tops, spiritwear, and sports team, theatre, missions trip, and club shirts
  • Jeans (blue or black), khaki pants/skirts (or shorts, during designated months)
  • Fashionable boots (not snow boots) allowed if wearing jeans
  • Jeans must be free of holes and not too tight
  • If not participating, wear regular school uniform

 

Dress Down Days:

  • The administration will announce special days where students will be allowed to dress down for the day
  • Jeans must be worn free from holes
  • Pants must be worn properly around the waist
  • No baggy pants
  • No yoga pants, spandex, or leggings
  • A student may wear jeans, dress code pants, dress code shorts (during approved seasons, dress code length) with any appropriate shirt or sweatshirt
