Kindergarten Prep

  • AM Class meets on Monday – Friday mornings 8:30 -11:30 a.m.
  • PM Class meets on Monday – Friday afternoons 12:30-3:15 p.m.
  • Kindergarten Prep is specially designed for those students who do not yet meet Kindergarten readiness due to age or overall readiness.
  • In Kindergarten Prep we focus on refining the academic skills learned in preschool to better prepare for the academic rigor of Kindergarten. Students benefit from a smaller atmosphere where teachers are able to focus on each student and their needs.
  • Fine motor skills are a huge part of the Kindergarten Prep experience as writing is such an integral part of the learning process.
  • Working on the student’s independence is also a major portion of the curriculum as it is important for the student to be confident in learning to complete activities on their own.
  • Social and emotional skills also play a role in learning to work independently and build problem-solving abilities. Kindergarten Prep is designed to help foster an atmosphere of learning and developing those skills.
  • We follow the same academic guidelines as our elementary school in the areas of phonics, handwriting, reading, math and writing. Science and social studies are integrated where appropriate in the curriculum.
  • Bible truths are taught and accompanied by weekly lessons.
  • In addition to classroom time, students will participate in art, music, and physical education.
  • Kindergarten Prep students will participate in the Christmas program and the Spring Concert.
